She is also the owner and producer of the Abby Lee Dance Company which has starred for eight seasons on the reality TV series Dance Moms.Miller pleaded guilty to federal insolvency fraud in June 2016. She was sentenced to one year and one day in federal prison in May 2017, and was released early.Miller grew up around dance in Penn Hills, Pennsylvania, a suburb of Pittsburgh, practicing at Maryen Lorrain Dance Studio under the supervision of her mother.
