Alexandra Essoe is a Canadian actress[1] who has mostly starred in horror movies. Essoe played her first lead role in the 2014 American horror movie Starry Eyes,[2] and she played a leading role in the 2017 American horror movie Midnighters.[3] In the 2019 American horror movie Doctor Sleep, she played Wendy Torrance.Essoe's parents had been expatriates living in Saudi Arabia when Essoe was born.[5] She and her family moved to Toronto when she was 12 years old. Essoe's mother was an actress on stage, and Essoe attended rehearsals and productions. While at high school she performed, including playing the lead in Medea, she initially aspired to be a teacher.
