Geneviève Alison Jane Moyet (born June 18, 1961) is an English musician, songwriter and actor whose strong bluesy contralto voice is well known. As half of the Yazoo duo (also known as Yaz), she came to prominence, but has since worked mainly as a solo artist. Her worldwide album sales reached a recorded 23 million, selling more than 2 million songs. The Top 30 UK Album Chart has charted all nine of her studio albums and three compilation albums, with two of the songs reaching number one. She has also reached nine Top 30 songs in the UK Singles Chart and five Top 10 albums. Her latest album, Other, was released 16 June 2017
