Amy Frederica Brenneman, a judge in the State Superior Court of Connecticut, was born in New London, Connecticut, in Frederica, Shoenfield, and Russel Langdon Brenneman, Jr., a lawyer in the area. Amy's mother was one of Harvard's first female graduates. Amy is also a Harvard graduate who studied comparative religion.She studied sacred dance in Nepal for a six-month period. During her studies, she established Cornerstone Theater Company, a touring production firm which takes classics to small towns and encourages locals to take part in them. After five years of touring in New York, she moved to Brooklyn to become a professor. Her first appearance in television was landed in 1992.
