Amy Elizabeth Macdonald is a Scottish singer-songwriter, drummer, and musician. She sold more than 12 million albums worldwide. In 2007 Macdonald released her debut album This Is The Life. From it became chart hits, the songs "Mr. Rock & Roll" and "This Is the Life." The latter charted in six countries to number five, while entering the top ten in another 11 countries.The album reached number one in four European countries-the UK, Denmark, the Netherlands and Switzerland-and sold three million copies worldwide. Followed modest growth in the US music industry in 2008.She was a regular on shows such as The Ellen DeGeneres Show and The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, where she performed two songs from the album, and on the Billboard 200, This Is the Life reached number 92.
