Andra Day (born Cassandra Monique Batie; 30 December 1984) is a San Diego, California-born American singer and songwriter. Her first album, Cheers to the Drop, came out in 2015 and debuted on the US Billboard 200 list at number 48. The song was nominated for Best R&B Recording at the 2016 Grammy Awards and the principal track of the record, "Rise Up," was nominated for Best R&B Song. Day has starred in a late 2015 commercial for Apple TV with Stevie Wonder, who is partially blamed with her creation. Her Cheers to Autumn Tour begun in November 2016.
