Koji was born in 1987, and grew up in Surrey, Epsom. As a child, Koji was raised in a single mother household and witnessed his biological parents part ways. Koji cites his mother as one of the main factors in his desired success, "My mother is getting older, and I have to make sure she's all right." He's one part English and one part Japanese. Koji identifies as belonging of mixed races, regardless of his immigrant ancestry. His dad is Japanese and his mother is English.
