Angie Stone (born Angela Laverne Brown; 18 December 1961) is a singer, songwriter, actress and record producer from the United States. She rose to fame as a member of the hip-hop group The Series in the late 1970s. Soon after, Stone started working with Mantronix, a futuristic rap group, and singer Lenny Kravitz. In the early 1990s, she became a member of the R&B trio Vertical Hold.
