Anna Friel, born in Rochdale, is an English actress. She has been performing in a variety of British television programs since she was 13. She made her West End stage debut in London in 2001, and subsequently performed on stage in several plays, including an adaptation of Breakfast at Tiffany's and as Yelena in Chekhov's Uncle Vanya's 2012 production.She has won many awards including the National Television Award (1995), the Drama Desk Award (1999), and the Royal Television Society Award (2009), among others. She has also featured in music videos and promotional advertisements on television and print media, and is the recipient of an honorary degree from Bolton University.
