Befitting her original name (Violet Pretty), the British bombshell brunette Anne Heywood won the prestigious beauty award of "Miss Great Britain" at the early age of 17 in 1950. Born on December 11, 1932, a violinist's aunt, she was initially educated at the London Music and Dramatic Art Academy.She early gained exposure on stage with Birmingham's Highbury Players and went on to some TV work. The Rank Organisation captured her eyesight and gave a seven-year deal to the aspiring beauty queen. Yet she was pretty much relegated at that period to playing ' sweet girl ' forms in the 50s and 60s.
