Arthur Ira Garfunkel (born 5 November 1941) is a musician, poet, and actor from the USA. He is best known inside the folk rock band Simon & Garfunkel for his relationship with Paul Simon. His solo music career accomplishments include a top 10 album, three top 20 albums, six top 40 songs, fourteen adult contemporary top 30 singles, five adult contemporary number ones, two UK number ones and a People's Choice Trophy.Garfunkel has won eight Grammys through his solo and collective work and a Lifetime Achievement Award. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990 with Simon. In 2008, Garfunkel was ranked 86th on the list of the 100 Best Singers of All Time by Rolling Stone magazine.
