Ashley was a self-confessed tomboy and "daredevil," and she enjoyed trying to keep up with his elder brother Joe, performing things including taekwondo and winning many competitions. Ashley says she was not allowed to spar the girls in taekwondo class because she "beat the girls up". She even accidentally once gave a boy she liked a bloody nose and lip while sparring.
