Ashley Thomas was born in Hammersmith, West London, first-born Jamaican mum, father and a Dominican. His stage name Bashy, is an English singer and actor, from Kensal Rise, London, England. He attended the RC Primary School of St Mary's of the Angels. He moved to Kensal Rise (northwestern London) at the age of eleven where he attended the high school of Cardinal Hinsley. In 2007 Thomas released a song "Black Boys." He also studied at The BRIT School for Performing Arts. This track brought Thomas to the consciousness of the nation and captured the attention of a world that has been plagued by many violent incidents among its urban youth.
