Audie Leon Murphy was an American soldier, singer, songwriter, and rancher (June 20, 1925–May 28, 1971). He was one of World War II's most decorated American combat soldiers. Any military battle decoration he won from the U.S. for the merit earned. Armed forces, as well as French and Belgian Heroism Medals.Murphy received the Medal of Honor for Merit, which he showed at the age of 19 for keeping a group of German soldiers in solitary confinement for an hour at Colmar Pocket in France in January 1945, then leading a successful counterattack while wounded and out of ammunition.
