Barbara Carrera was born on 31 December 1945 in Bluefields, Nicaragua to Barbara Kingsbury. The beautiful female model is better known for portraying a creepy femme fatale for her film performances. She has gained slight cult status in doing so, and has a relatively loyal following. The tall and tanned Carrera first grew up in small roles taking advantage of her glamorous features in The Master Gunfighter (1975), Embryo (1976), and Dr. Moreau's Island (1977). She broke through with North American mainstream viewers playing Clay Basket in the Centennial miniseries (1978), and mistress Lucia Flavius Silva in the Masada miniseries (1981).
