How tall was Bette Davis?
Ruth Elizabeth Davis was born to Ruth Augusta (Favor) and Harlow Morrell Davis, a patent attorney, at Lowell, Massachusetts, on 5 April 1908. Her parents divorced at age 10. Her mother raised her, and her son. Her early passion had been in music. Dancers lived a beautiful life to Bette, but then she found the stage, and gave up dancing to act. She was denied entry to the Manhattan Civic Repertoire of Eva Le Gallienne upon graduation from Cushing Academy. She studied in the Dramatic School of John Murray Anderson, and was the standout student. She was in "The World Behind" off-Broadway play (1923), and her Broadway debut in "Broken Dishes" in 1929.
