She moved to Chicago to become a contemporary dancer after graduating from Iowa State University with a bachelor's degree in Animal Science / Pre-Vet. She practiced music, as well.She wanted to pursue her education after years of working as a dancer and actress at prestigious theaters such as Steppenwolf and Victory Gardens, and is now a graduate of The Juilliard School.
