He has recorded 16 studio albums and 53 singles since 1992, and is known for his "Achy Breaky Heart" number one hit, which has been Australia's first hit ever to reach triple platinum status. In 1992 it was also the bestselling song in the same country. Cyrus, a country artist who markets multiplatinum, achieved a total of eight top-ten songs on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. His most successful album to date is his debut Some Gave It, which has been certified 9 Multi-Platinum in the United States and is the longest time spent in the SoundScan period by a new artist at number one on the Billboard 200 (17 straight weeks).
