Bipasha Basu (born 7 January 1979), also known as Bipasha Basu Singh Grover by her married name, is an Indian movie actress and model. She was known mainly for her work in Hindi films, and also worked in Tamil, Telugu, Bengali and English films. Basu has won several honours, including one Filmfare Award. Born in Delhi and raised in Kolkata, Basu won the 1996 Godrej Cinthol Supermodel contest, and later pursued a successful fashion model career. She then began getting film roles offers and made her acting debut with a negative role in the mildly successful Ajnabee thriller (2001), which earned her the Best Female Debut Filmfare Award.
