Brian George (born 1 July 1952) is an Israeli-English actor, voice artist, comedian and musician, well known for portraying Seinfeld's Pakistani restaurateur Babu Bhatt and Raj Koothrappali 's Indian gynaecologist father in The Big Bang Theory. George was born to Jewish parents of Baghdadi Jewish (Iraqi Jewish) origin who had emigrated to Israel in Jerusalem on 1 July 1952. His wife, his mum, was raised in Lebanon, and in India. The family emigrated from Israel to London a year after his birth, and then, in 1966, to Toronto , Ontario , Canada. Of four siblings, George is the eldest.
