Bryan Ferry CBE (born 26 September 1945) is a songwriter and English musician. His voice was described as "a seductive, elegant croon." He also developed a distinctive identity and sartorial style; Ferry and his colleague David Bowie, according to The Independent, inspired a generation with both their music and their appearances. Ferry came to fame with the glam pop rock band Roxy Music as the lead singer and main songwriter, scoring three No. 1 albums and 10 singles that climbed to the top 10 in the UK between 1972 and 1982. Their singles included "Virginia Plain," "Street Life," "Dance Down," "Angel Eyes," "Oh Hey," "Jealous Man," "Avalon," and "More Than This."
