Carroll Baker (born May 28, 1931) is a retired American actress of film, stage, and television.All through the 1950s and 1960s, Baker's scope of jobs from youthful ingénues to reckless and colorful ladies set up her as both a pin-up and genuine emotional entertainer. In the wake of considering under Lee Strasberg at the Actors Studio, Baker started performing on Broadway in 1954. From that point she was enlisted by chief Elia Kazan to play the lead in the adjustment of two Tennessee Williams plays into the film Baby Doll in 1956. Her job in the film as a teasing yet explicitly gullible Southern lady earned her BAFTA and Oscar assignments for Best Actress, just as a Golden Globe grant for Most Promising Newcomer that year.
