Cerys Elizabeth Matthews MBE is a Welsh singer, songwriter, novelist and broadcaster, born on April 11, 1969. She was a founding member of Welsh rock band Catatonia and a prominent figure in the late 1990s "Cool Cymru" movementMatthews presents and hosts a weekly music show on BBC Radio 6 Rock, a weekly jazz show on BBC Radio 2 and a regular series on BBC World Service, produces TV and radio documentaries and is a roving reporter for The One Programme.In 2014, she created ' The Good Life Festival, ' a cultural and outdoor festival in Flintshire, with Charlie and Caroline Gladstone, and is the author of Hook, Line and Singer published by Penguin and children's stories Tales From The Depths and Gelert, A Man's Best Friend, Gomer.
