How tall was Charles Boyer?
Charles Boyer studied psychology before moving to the stage, where in 1920 he made his debut. While he had no hope of seeking a career at the cinema at first (his first film was Marcel L'Herbier's L'homme du grand (1920)), he used his chance in Hollywood after many shooting stations around Europe. His stunning voice was covered by the silent films at the beginning of his career but he became famous in Hollywood for his whispered declarations of love (like in films with Greta Garbo, Marlene Dietrich or Ingrid Bergman). In 1934 he married his first and (unusual for a star) only child, Pat Paterson. He was so devoted to her that two days after her death, in 1978, he decided to commit suicide.
