Charles Peckham Day was raised in Middletown, Rhode Island, and was born in New York City, NY. His parents are also music teachers-his mum, Mary (Peckham), is a piano teacher, and his father, Dr. Thomas Charles Day, was a music professor at the University of Newport, Rhode Island, Salve Regina. Charlie plays both guitar and piano. He's got Italian (from his grandfather), Irish, and English ancestry. He attended Merrimack College in Massachusetts, with a concentration in the history of art. He began acting at the Williamstown Theater Festival and in minor TV roles after graduation. He offset his money by waiting for tables and answering phones to market a Motown anthology for a telethon. Having sung a funny blues song he'd composed at a cabaret party, he got his first boss.
