Kuriyama Chiaki was born in Ibaraki's Tsuchiura. During the child model boom of Japan in the mid-1990s, Kuriyama was a popular model.In 1997, she featured in Kishin Shinoyama's photo books Shinwa-Shojo (Myth Girl) and Shojokan (Girl's Residence). In 1999, after introducing new anti-infant pornography regulations, Shinwa-Shojo became a bestseller but was discontinued as it featured some nudity.
