Christina Ricci was born in 1980 in Santa Monica, California, the youngest of four Sarah (Murdoch), a realtor, and Ralph Ricci, a lawyer and psychiatrist, precocious, outspoken child-teen starlet of the 1990's. She is of Italian origin (from her paternal grandfather), of Irish descent, and of Scottish descent. At age 9, she made her film debut in Mermaids (1990), where she collaborated with Winona Ryder.
