Lee Chae-rin (born 26 February 1991) is a South Korean singer-songwriter, rapper and record producer, best known by her stage name CL. Located in Seoul, South Korea, in Japan and France she lived most of her early life. CL studied at JYP Entertainment before joining YG Entertainment at age 15 and making his debut as a member of the 2NE1 girl group in 2009. After taking a break with her party, CL embarked on her US solo career in 2015. 2NE1 formally disbanded in 2016, and remained under YG as a solo artist until her contract ended in November 2019.
