Clare Victoria Balding OBE (born 29 January 1971) is an artist, journalist and broadcaster. She is reporting for Itv News, Channel 4, BT Sport and has also hosted the Good Morning Sunday christian show on BBC Radio 2. Balding was raised in Berkshire's Downe House where she was head girl and actress contemporary Miranda Hart. In reality, Hart and Balding are 10th-cousins, sharing a great-grandfather in Sir William Leveson-Gower, 4th Baronet. Clare Balding applied for law reading at Christ's College, Cambridge, but missed her interview and found that the law wasn't what she really desired to do, she then applied successfully to Newnham College, Cambridge, and read English.
