Daniel Paul Johns (born 22 April 1979) is a guitarist, singer, and songwriter from Australia. Renowned as the founding front man of the Silverchair rock band, Johns is now one-half of The Dissociatives with Paul Mac and named number 18 in 2007 on the 25 Most Underrated Guitarists list by Rolling Stone.Johns and school mates Ben Gillies and Chris Joannou formed a band at the age of 12, initially called "The Innocent Criminals," and performed for stretches of four hours or more a day after school.
