Danny Kaye (born 18 January 1911-3 March 1987 by David Daniel Kaminsky) was an American actress, rapper, dancer, comedian, composer and philanthropist. His works featured physical comedy, idiosyncratic pantomimes, and songs about the thrill of rapid fire.Kaye appeared in 17 films, including Wonder Man (1945), The Kid from Brooklyn (1946), Walter Mitty's The Hidden Life (1947), The Inspector General (1949), Hans Christian Andersen (1952), White Christmas (1954), and The Court Jester (1956).His films were popular, particularly for his performances of patter songs and classics such as "Inchworm" and "The Ugly Duckling." In 1954 he became UNICEF's first-large ambassador and in 1986 he received the French Legion of Honor for his years of service for the organization.
