Daphne Etta Maxwell Reid (Maxwell 's birthday; July 13, 1948) is an American actress, actor, and model. She is well known for her part as the second Vivian Banks from 1993 to 1996 on the NBC sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Daughter of Rosalee and Green Maxwell, Reid was raised in New York City. She is a graduate of The Bronx Technology High School. She graduated from Northwestern University with a degree in interior design and architecture, which she attended on a scholarship, and where she became the first African-American woman to be named as the homecoming queen.
