Deborah Sonia Meaden (born 1959) is an English businesswoman who ran a multi-million-pound family vacation business before undertaking a management buy-out, but is now best known for her appearances on the BBC Two Dragons ' Den business program.On leaving school, Meaden studied business at Brighton Technical College, during which she worked in a design house as a sales-room model. During graduation, she moved to Italy at 19 and founded an export agency for glass and ceramics that marketed goods to retailers like Harvey Nichols. Upon 18 months, the company failed.
