Dena Kaplan was born in South Africa and was moved in 1996 to Melbourne, Australia. Dena is an actor and dancer best known for her appearance as Abigail Armstrong in the television show ' Dance Academy ' of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (2010–2012). Kaplan attended Melbourne high school and received dance lessons at various schools; Australian Ballet School, Jane Moore Ballet Academy, and City Dance Centre. Her first stage performance came alongside David Campbell in the Carousel of the Production Company, where she played Louise in the second act of the series, a non-singing solo ballet role.
