Divian Ladwa is a British actor who, for portraying the mentally disturbed lead in the Oscar winning film Lion (2016), has received significant international acclaim. He is popularly recognised for portraying Hugh in Detectorists (2014), the BAFTA winning comedy series. Additional work in the film includes playing a timorous Dev King in the British feature film 8 Minutes Idle (2012) and a vengeously hot-tempered Rahim Begum in the EIFF best drama winner Saxon (2007). He has an long experience in theater working early in his career with a wide variety of companies including Tamasha Theater Company and Fluxx Improvised Theatre.
