Duncan James (born 7 April 1978) is an English rapper, tv personality and actor. He is best known from 2000 to 2005 as a member of the boy band Blue, and again from 2009 after their reformation. He is also well known in Hollyoaks for portraying Ryan Knight.In early 2000, James and Antony Costa encouraged Lee Ryan and Simon Webbe to form the group Blue. Blue's R&B-influenced pop helped the group to achieve mainstream success in the UK and many other countries including Ireland, Portugal, Belgium, Italy, France, Australia and New Zealand.
