Mary Elizabeth Hartman (23 December 1943 – 10 June 1987) was a stage and film American actress. She is well remembered for her breakthrough appearance in the 1965 movie A Patch of Blue, as a blind teenager named Selina D'Arcy, opposite Sidney Poitier, a role for which she has been nominated for Best Actress Academy Award and Golden Globe Award. In Don Siegel's The Beguiled, and the 1973 box office hit and fan classic Walking Tall, Hartman also appeared opposite Clint Eastwood and Geraldine Page. In film, Hartman became best known in Our Town's Broadway production for her performances of Laura Wingfield in The Glass Menagerie and Emily Webb.
