How tall was Elsa Lanchester?
Elsa Sullivan Lanchester was born at the turn of the 20th century, into an unorthodox family. Her parents, James "Shamus" Sullivan and Edith "Biddy" Lanchester, were Socialists-rather committed members of the Social Democratic Federation (SDF) in a very specific sense, and they did not believe in the institution of marriage and were bound by certain morality norms in the matter. Her mother reportedly had her father and older brothers sent to an asylum in 1895 because of her unmarried relationship with James. The event was reported as "Lanchester Kidnapping Case" by the international news.
