How tall was Francis Matthews?
Francis Matthews (September 2, 1927-June 14, 2014) was an English comedian, best known for playing Paul Temple in the same-name BBC television series and voicing Captain Scarlet in Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons. He found work as a stage hand at the Theater Royal in Leeds and made his theater debut in 1945 in the play The Corn Is Green before completing his national service in the Royal Navy. After leaving the army, he returned to the stage and starred in a 1954 touring version of the play No Escape, starring Flora Robson. In 1956 he made his West End debut.
