Giovanna Scoglio was born in Manchester, England, and moved with her aristocratic Sicilian dad and Irish mum to Sicily at the age of three, at a high and sparkling, but still cautious and sensible arrival. At the age of fourteen, she moved to New York and attended high school in Bayside (Queens) and graduated in 1952. While working with Stella Adler and the Actors Studio, she worked as a file clerk and airline reservation officer.
