Grace Slick was born as Grace Barnett Wing on 30 October 1939 in Chicago, Illinois, USA. She had previously been married with Skip Johnson and Gerald Robert (Jerry) Slick. She was the lead singer for Jefferson Airplane and Jefferson Starship rock groups. Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (as a Jefferson Airplane member) in 1996. She once revealed that she once wanted to attend a White House tea for finch college graduates together with Yippie activist Abbie Hoffman, where Tricia Nixon once attended. Slick wanted to sneak up next to President Richard Nixon while at the party, and inject his tea with LSD.
