President of The Marx Brothers was the bushy-brown, cigar-smoking wise-cracker with the painted-on moustache and stooped rise. Groucho never swore in any of his shows of one-liners that were often multiple understandings, and said he never wanted to be known as a filthy comedian.One of the things that Groucho was best known for was his version of the song "Lydia the Tattooed Lady," with a deep love of music and singing (the Marx Brothers started as a singing group).He was the highly successful presenter of You Bet Your Life (1950), a radio and television quiz show, from the late 1940s to 1961.
