How tall is Hal Linden?
Bronx-born Hal Linden, born in 1931, was the son of Charles Lipshitz and Frances Rosen, and had an older brother who would become a potential music professor at Bowling Green State University, Ohio. Similarly instrumental, in his late teens, Hal took up classical clarinet, and frequently performed with symphony orchestras. After graduating from the High School of Music and Art in Manhattan, he studied music at Queens College, moving later to City College to follow business.Hal also performed in dance bands and was invited on tour to join Sammy Kaye before being enlisted into the Army, where he sang and supplied the troops with entertainment. This sparked interest in singing, and after receiving his discharge, he studied in the American Theater Wing in New York where he trained in speech and acting.
