Named by The Hollywood Reporter as a Canada Rising Star in 2017, Hamza Haq stars as Bashsir "Bash" Hamed in the new CTV medical drama Transplant. The series revolves around an ER doctor who left his native Syria to come to Canada where he has to tackle various challenges to restart a career in emergency medicine's high-stakes culture. In 2018, Hamza starred in the CTV mini-series The Indian Detective opposite William Shatner and Russell Peters as twins Amal and Gopal and received critical acclaim as Raza Ali in The Life, a CBC drama for which he won a 2018 Canadian Screen Award nomination for Best Guest Appearance.
