Heather Doerksen (pronounced Dirk-sin) was born at 5'9 "in Manitoba, Canada. Going to college, her ambition was to study biological sciences but it took an powerful acting workshop to encourage her to switch her major. She graduated from Simon Fraser University in British Columbia with her BFA in theatre. Heather landed her first film roles on 'Smallville' and 'Battlestar Galactica' in 2005, after appearing mainly in stage plays, before being cast in the 'Pacific Rim' of Academy Award winner Guillermo del Toro in 2013.
