Her first album, Stop the Storm, was released in 2005, and since then she has released eight more albums: Girls and Boys, Be OK, All, Human Again, Lights Out, It Doesn't Have to Make Sense, Songs for the Season, and Stranger Music, her most recent.Her two highest-chart songs on the Billboard Hot 100 are "The Way I Am" (2007) and "Girls Chase Women" (2014), respectively, at No. 37 and No. 52.Michaelson is half Swedish, and was born to creative parents in New York City in 1979. Her boss, Carl Michaelson, was a copyright manager for the Carl Fischer Music publishing company, and a side composer ("The Christmas Praise").
