She was made a Chevalier of the Legion of Honor in 2010, and a Commander of the Order of Arts and Letters in 2014. She won Best Actress at the 1981 Cannes Film Festival for her exhibitions in Possession and Quartet, and, later, she won the Silver Bear for Best Actress at the 1989 Berlin Film Festival for Camille Claudel.
