Jacob "Jack" Kruschen (March 20, 1922-April 2, 2002) was a Canadian character actor mainly active in American film, television and radio. Kruschen was nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for his appearance as Dr. Dreyfuss in The Apartment's 1960 comedy drama.Raised as Jacob Kruschen in Winnipeg, Manitoba, to Moses (aka Maurice and Morris) Kruschen and Sophie (raised Bogushevsky), both of Russian Jewish origin, Jacob and his family moved to New York City in the early 1920s and then to California. His niece, Miriam, was born in 1927, in New York City.
