Jaclyn Smith was born on 26 October 1945 in Houston, Texas, to Jacquelyn Ellen Smith. She graduated from high school, and aspired to be a successful ballerina at first. She landed a job as a model for Breck shampoo in 1973. In 1976, for a proposed television series, called Charlie's Angels (1976), she was offered a chance to appear in a new pilot. The pilot had been slick and the show was an instant hit when it debuted on ABC on September 22, 1976. Smith is the only original "Angel" to remain with the series throughout its 5-season run (1976-81).
