Scottish-born actor James Donald was born on 18 May 1917 in Aberdeen and took his first professional stage bow in the late 30s for some time. In 1943 he eventually achieved a degree of stardom for his stellar success in "Current Amusement" by Noël Coward, which starred Coward himself. Post-war theater work subsequently included "The Eagle of Two Eyes" (1947), "You Never Can Tell" (1948) and "The Heiress" (1949) with Ralph Richardson, Peggy Ashcroft and Donald Sinden.
